Belarusian hospitality

Today 130 nationalities live together with Belarusians, who constitute 81.2% of the country’s population. Other ethnic groups include Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Jews, migrants from the Caucasus countries, a small Arab community represented by recent migrants from Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, etc. (often graduates of Minsk universities who decide to settle in Belarus and their families).

Minsk is a multi-religious city. For centuries people of different religions have lived in harmony on the territory of Belarus. Nowadays along with catholic and orthodox churches, there are several synagogues and mosques in the city. Representatives of different confessions not only live in peace but also show deep respect to beliefs of their neighbours.
